Escutcheon, Forged Iron, Plain

A very simple handmade, forged iron escutcheon. Forged or wrought iron items are made differently to cast items. Wought iron translates roughly to 'worked iron' and is forged by a blacksmith as opposed to cast iron which is melted and poured into moulds/casts. This forged iron escutcheon measures 2 inches by 1½ inch and will suit an older, rustic or country property.
